Shin Sang-jin, mayor of Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province, expressed on the 9th regarding the court's decision to cancel the detention of President Yoon Seok-yeol, "I pay my respects to the true legal professionals who quietly work hard and strive today to establish the rule of law."
On the previous day, Mayor Shin stated on his Facebook, "The special investigation team is calculating something instead of releasing President Yoon, who was detained in violation of legal procedures, according to the court's ruling and the prosecution leadership's decision?" and asserted, "Follow the law! That's why they are called pathetic political prosecutors."
He also said, "If even the president is treated like this, how much more so the ordinary weak?" and added, "Isn't the people's outcry of 'justice is only for the rich and powerful' still alive? Some political prosecutors should wake up and faithfully perform their original roles!"
