From April 1, Delivery Fees for Small and Medium Parcels Will Increase for Corporate Customers
Individual Rates Remain Frozen, but Consumers May Ultimately Bear the Cost
CJ Logistics will raise its delivery fees for the first time in two years.
CJ Logistics announced on the 7th that starting from the 1st of next month, it will increase delivery fees by up to 100 KRW for corporate customers such as online shopping malls and convenience stores. Specifically, small parcels under 2 kg will see an increase of 90 to 100 KRW, and medium parcels under 20 kg will increase by 50 to 100 KRW. This is CJ Logistics' first delivery fee hike since 2023, marking a two-year interval.
On the other hand, delivery fees for large parcels over 20 kg will be reduced by 100 to 300 KRW. This measure aims to ease the burden on small-scale sellers handling bulky and heavy agricultural, livestock, and marine products. Additionally, delivery fees for individual customers will remain frozen regardless of weight or volume.
CJ Logistics plans to present this pricing adjustment proposal to each client and conduct individual negotiations. Industry insiders believe that this adjustment by CJ Logistics is likely to lead to an increase in the final delivery fees borne by consumers. Currently, the average delivery fee for corporate customers of CJ Logistics is 2,300 KRW. Consumers typically pay delivery fees of 3,000 KRW or more when shopping online.
