Gyeonggi-do, First Local Government Nationwide to Introduce Generative AI Platform in Administrative Services

Gyeonggi Province is the first local government in the country to recruit a business operator for the ‘Gyeonggi Generative AI Platform Construction Project,’ which utilizes generative AI and big data to innovate public administration.

The core of the Gyeonggi Generative AI Platform Construction Project is to introduce generative AI and support administrative tasks by utilizing large language models (LLM). Through this, it is expected to assist public officials in document writing and analysis tasks and quickly provide information needed by residents.

Gyeonggi Province established an Informatization Strategic Plan (ISP) last year and secured the related budget. Earlier this year, internal procedures for selecting a business operator were completed, and a preliminary announcement was made on the 7th.

This project will be promoted in four areas: ▲building an administrative innovation system based on generative AI ▲introducing an internally built LLM within Gyeonggi Province ▲constructing a data integration platform ▲building AI platform infrastructure.

Gyeonggi Province plans to hold a proposal request briefing session at the end of this month to provide detailed information such as bidding participation qualifications and proposal evaluation criteria and methods to companies interested in the project.

Kim Gi-byeong, Director of AI at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "As ultra-large AI technology rapidly advances, the role of AI in the public administration sector is becoming increasingly important. Through this project, we will provide more innovative public services and optimize internal work processes to deliver tangible benefits of AI to residents."
