Railro was developed to enhance communication with the public by embodying the safety and friendly image of railroads. The goods include keychains, stuffed dolls, stationery, and clothing accessories featuring the Railro character and shapes related to railway projects and structures.
Railro goods can be purchased at the railroad goods specialty store 'Train Mates.' Train Mates is a jointly operated goods store by the Korea Rail Network Authority, Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL), SR Co., Ltd., Busan Transportation Corporation, and KORAIL Distribution Co., Ltd., opening at Seoul Station on the 7th and Busan Station on the 14th.
Train Mates offers over 230 products themed around railroads.
Notably, this project is meaningful as it reflects the social responsibility of railway institutions as public organizations by collaborating with small and medium-sized enterprises to develop products utilizing the intellectual property rights of railway institutions.
The Korea Rail Network Authority expects this initiative to not only spread railroad culture but also positively impact the revitalization of the local economy.
Lee Seong-hae, Chairman of the Korea Rail Network Authority, said, “We hope the release of these goods will serve as an opportunity for the public to feel closer to railroads,” adding, “The Korea Rail Network Authority will continue to promote the charm of ‘K-Rail’ widely through the development of various contents and products and strive to communicate closely with the public.”
