Shinbo Holds Workshop with Asian Development Bank Institute... "Exploring Directions for SME Finance"

Over 100 Policy Officials and Financial Experts from the Asia-Pacific Region Attend

The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund announced on the 6th that it held a workshop on small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) finance in the Asia-Pacific region together with the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI).

The workshop, held on the 5th and 6th at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul, was organized to analyze the financial environment for SMEs in the Asia-Pacific region and to explore effective support measures to enhance SMEs' access to finance and adapt to future changes in the financial landscape. The event was attended by over 100 participants, including ADBI President Tetsushi Sonobe and policy officials from the Asia-Pacific region.


On the first day, the workshop focused on envisioning the future of SMEs and discussing the role of policy finance in fostering innovative growth for enterprises. The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund introduced customized financial policies supporting Korean SMEs and shared cases of operating the credit guarantee system.


On the second day, the main agenda items will address support measures for the sustainable growth of SMEs under the themes of 'green economy' and 'digital transformation.' The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund plans to share information on issuing green bonds applying the Korean-style Green Taxonomy (K-Taxonomy) and the introduction of 'BASA,' a dedicated corporate big data portal.


Choi Won-mok, Chairman of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, stated, "This joint workshop is a valuable opportunity to explore new directions for SME finance and share insights on the future financial environment. The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund plans to continue expanding cooperation with international organizations and research institutes to develop the SME financial ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific region."
