Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation Selected for '2025 K-Gastronomy Belt' Contest

The Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation announced on the 6th that it has been selected as the final operating organization for the "2025 K-Gastronomy Belt Public Contest Project," hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korean Food Promotion Institute.


The K-Gastronomy Belt Public Contest Project is a national gastronomy tourism initiative aimed at establishing a sustainable gastronomy tourism model by linking unique local ingredients and culture.


This year, the project was conducted in three categories: Kimchi, traditional liquor, and ginseng. The foundation applied with the theme of the Geumsan Ginseng Gastronomy Belt.


The main initiatives include: ▲Development of gastronomy content utilizing ginseng ▲Planning of ginseng gastronomy tourism programs that encompass both tradition and modernity ▲Development of experiential ginseng content linked to local tourism ▲Promotion and marketing in connection with festivals and events.


In particular, the foundation plans to focus on strategic promotion to attract tourists from the metropolitan area and to expand Korean food content for global tourists.


In celebration of the "2025-2026 Chungnam Visit Year," the foundation will invest a total of 300 million won, including 150 million won in national funding, to expand the K-food industry ecosystem utilizing ginseng and to vitalize local tourism.


Additionally, the foundation plans to offer differentiated gastronomy tour programs themed around Geumsan ginseng for both domestic and international tourists.


By integrating the value of Geumsan ginseng with gastronomy tourism and leveraging its expertise, the foundation aims to establish a distinctive gastronomy tourism model and develop Geumsan into a leading destination for ginseng gastronomy tourism.
