Yeoju City Council Temporary Session Opens... Strengthening Policy Research and Promoting Overlapping Regulation Resolution

Deliberation on a Total of 38 Agenda Items

The Yeoju City Council in Gyeonggi Province, chaired by Park Doo-hyung, announced on the 6th that it has opened the 73rd extraordinary session from the 5th to the 11th, a seven-day schedule, to deliberate on a total of 38 agenda items.

During this session, various agenda items will be presented, including 11 ordinances proposed by council members, 13 ordinances submitted by the executive branch, one consent item, and the drafting and approval of the administrative audit plan.


This extraordinary session will discuss various policies aimed at the development of Yeoju City and the enhancement of citizen welfare. In particular, key ordinances proposed by council members are drawing attention.


Chairman Park Doo-hyung proposed the "Partial Amendment to the Basic Energy Ordinance of Yeoju City," aiming to raise the equipment capacity standards for solar power projects to expand the distribution of renewable energy and contribute to increasing farmers' leisure income based on economic feasibility analysis. Vice Chairman Park Si-seon proposed the "Ordinance to Promote the Right to Play for Children in Yeoju City," aiming to create an environment where children can play freely and to spread a healthy play culture.


Councilor Jeong Byeong-gwan seeks to establish a support and management system for the stable supply of agricultural labor through the "Ordinance on Support and Management of Foreign Seasonal Workers in Yeoju City." Councilor Gyeong Gyu-myeong proposed the "Ordinance to Support Fertility Preservation in Yeoju City," aiming to assist healthy pregnancies and address low birthrate issues by supporting reproductive cell freezing procedures.


Councilor Lee Sang-sook proposed the "Ordinance to Support the Activation of E-commerce for Agricultural Products in Yeoju City," intending to promote direct online transactions and e-commerce of local agricultural products, thereby contributing to expanding sales channels and increasing farmers' income.


In his opening remarks, Chairman Park Doo-hyung stated, "The Yeoju City Council will focus on practical policy research and seek optimal policies for Yeoju's development through continuous legislative forums and research activities." He also emphasized, "Following the call for the abolition of the Hangang Act and the formation of a pan-citizen countermeasure committee, we will strongly promote the resolution of overlapping regulations in cooperation with seven cities and counties near Paldang Lake."


The Yeoju City Council plans to discuss various policies to improve citizens' quality of life and regional development through this extraordinary session and urged citizens' interest and participation.
