Domestic meal kit tteokbokki specialist ‘Chueok-ui Gukminhakgyo Tteokbokki (Gukddeok)’ is accelerating its expansion into the global market, riding the wave of K-food popularity.
On the 6th, Gukddeok announced the launch of three new products that allow consumers to easily enjoy nostalgic Korean snacks.
The new products include ▲Apple-infused Tteokkochi (rice cake skewers) ▲Apple-infused Seasoned Yaki Mandu (fried dumplings) ▲XO Sauce Sundae (Korean blood sausage) Stir-fry, which reinterpret traditional Korean snack flavors in a modern way.
The apple-infused Tteokkochi and seasoned Yaki Mandu use domestically grown apples to add natural sweetness and freshness, while the XO Sauce Sundae Stir-fry maximizes umami by incorporating XO sauce. All the new products were developed to maintain the popularity of Korean cuisine while creating a new harmony of flavors.
The newly launched menu items are attracting strong attention not only domestically but also in overseas markets.
In particular, these new products have been distributed locally in Australia and the Philippines since last month, and their export is expected to be a very important stepping stone for Gukddeok, which aims to expand its global market presence this year.
A Gukddeok representative said, "As the popularity of the national snack tteokbokki continues to grow, we conducted research on the most preferred snacks by consumers and added the apple-infused Tteokkochi, seasoned mandu, and XO Sauce Sundae stir-fry to our snack lineup as products to follow." He added, "We will continue to expand our categories through ongoing research and development and do our best to promote the taste of Korea in overseas markets."
Meanwhile, Gukddeok has established itself as a brand that emotionally revives memories of school days while modernly reinterpreting the authentic taste of Korean snacks.
A company official stated, "We expect to grow into a brand loved by consumers both at home and abroad through the launch of these new products and overseas expansion."
