At the Book Concert, Han Criticizes Lee
"Taking 30% of Shares? That's Embarrassing for the Neighborhood"
On Yoon's Lawyer Calling Martial Law 'Enlightenment Law':
"The People Are Not Objects of Enlightenment"
Former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon criticized Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, for his remark on '30% of K-NVIDIA shares being publicly shared,' saying, "This is reminiscent of the nationalization by dictatorial regimes in South America. We need to go in the exact opposite direction."
On the afternoon of the 5th, at a book concert titled "Hello! Republic of Korea" held in Donggyo-dong, Seoul, Han told his supporters, "In preparing for the era of artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors, what the government should do is secure graphics processing units (GPUs) and prepare power supply. The rest should be done by the private sector."
Earlier, Lee Jae-myung had argued that AI-related companies, which require large-scale investments, should be nurtured by a sovereign wealth fund jointly investing to secure shares in companies like NVIDIA.
Han emphasized that if the state holds 30% of shares, it would be difficult for companies like NVIDIA to emerge, stating, "Innovation in the AI era supports the innovators' innovations. In the AX (AI Transformation) revolution and AI era, the political sphere must get involved. Politics must provide full support." He further criticized, "Why boast and say you will take 30% by talking about NVIDIA? Isn't that embarrassing for the neighborhood?"
Regarding RE100 (Renewable Energy 100%) promoted by Lee during the last presidential election, Han said, "It should be discarded," adding, "While renewable energy should naturally be encouraged at the industrial level, increasing its share to prepare for the AI semiconductor era is nonsense." He continued, "Even the United States is not doing that now. In the AX era and semiconductor era, we do not want to fall behind with such logic."
Targeting Lee and the Democratic Party, Han said, "Upholding the basics of liberal democracy means having mutual trust regarding agreements and promises on fundamental principles," and criticized, "That political force lacks that trust. Therefore, I dare say they are the most dangerous people in the Republic of Korea today."

Regarding Lee's lack of response to political demands for constitutional amendment participation, Han said, "I think he sees the presidency as a means to avoid his own crimes," and criticized, "Many citizens would agree on the need for constitutional amendment. I regret that he holds such a stance on that matter."
Throughout the book concert, Han emphasized that "We must cross the sea of martial law" and "We must prepare for a new era through constitutional amendment." In response to President Yoon Seok-youl's lawyer calling martial law 'enlightenment law,' Han stated, "The people are not objects of enlightenment," and drew a clear line by saying, "The People Power Party is not a party that supports martial law but a party that prevented it."
Regarding recent political comeback moves and speculation about an early presidential election, Han responded, "This book concert is not based on any premise regarding the Constitutional Court's decision. It is merely a place to release a book and explain." He added, "We will watch the Constitutional Court's decision, but it must be a decision that aligns with the Constitution and constitutional spirit of the Republic of Korea."
Earlier, Han had said at the book concert that emergency martial law and excessive impeachment are departures from the spirit of restraint assumed by the 1987 Constitution, but regarding the lifting of martial law and the passage of President Yoon's impeachment motion, he said, "I think many people felt pain and sorrow," and apologized, "I am deeply sorry."
