A Turning Point for Local Job Creation and Economic Revitalization Expected
Shinan County, Jeonnam Province (Governor Park Wooriang) announced on the 5th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 4th with TUV SUD Korea, Heunghae Co., Ltd., and Surpack Co., Ltd. to establish the Shinan Offshore Wind Power Industry Training Center.
This agreement holds significant meaning for the efficient operation of the wind farm, the industrial development of Shinan County, and job creation, as the Shinan offshore wind power project moves into full-scale implementation.

The purpose of this agreement is to contribute to achieving the government's Renewable Energy 3020 Implementation Plan goals through a public-private offshore wind power industry training center. It is expected that this will foster local talent, create jobs, and enable the sustainable growth of the offshore wind power industry in Shinan County.
This project, with a total investment of 30 billion KRW, will be established in Songgong-ri, Shinan County, covering an area of 10,000 m² (approximately 3,000 pyeong). It will be built as the nation’s first comprehensive training center to provide education in safety, maintenance technology, and marine vessel operation.
The signing ceremony was attended by Jorn Beisert, Deputy Ambassador of the German Embassy in Korea, and Felix Kalkowski, Vice President of the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who congratulated the participants, saying, "This cooperation will be an important milestone not only for the offshore wind power industry but also for the local community and the talented professionals who will benefit from this project."
Governor Park Wooriang said, "Through this agreement, we expect to nurture experts in offshore wind power, provide jobs for local residents, and create a significant turning point for the development of the Shinan offshore wind power industry and the revitalization of the local economy."
