Kim Yongju, former manager at Damyang County Office, who was eliminated in the first primary for the Democratic Party candidate in the Damyang County Governor by-election in South Jeolla Province, officially announced his support for Lee Jaejong, a preliminary candidate, on the 5th.
On this day, Kim visited Lee Jaejong's campaign office to declare his support, stating, "Lee Jaejong is a diligent and well-prepared candidate above all others. He developed a keen sense for policy while serving as a Blue House administrator, and having grown up in the region, he understands Damyang's issues and solutions better than anyone."
He added, "Although we competed fiercely during the primary, what truly matters is the future of our region. I support Lee Jaejong, a young, innovative, and clean candidate who will lead Damyang's definite growth and change. I will join forces for a better Damyang."
He continued, "I believe Candidate Lee will communicate with the residents and bring about real change. Based on my 33 years of public service experience, I will work together with him to do my utmost to create a prosperous and wealthy rural Damyang."
In response, Lee Jaejong said, "I deeply appreciate the support from former manager Kim Yongju. I am confident that his extensive public service experience and economic expertise will greatly contribute to the development of the region. Together, we will build a better Damyang."
Meanwhile, Lee Jaejong, a native of Subuk-myeon in Damyang County, has served as an administrator at the Presidential Secretariat in the Blue House, deputy spokesperson for the Democratic Party's central committee, chief spokesperson for Moon Jaein's Gwangju campaign headquarters, and head of policy media for the Democratic Party.
