Kim Taeheum: "Han Donghoon Should Study Korean Again"

Urging Correction and Apology for Claims of Changing Statements

Kim Taeheum: "Han Donghoon Should Study Korean Again"

Kim Taeheum, Governor of South Chungcheong Province, expressed his discomfort on the 5th by targeting Han Donghoon, former leader of the People Power Party, saying, "You should study Korean again."

On his social media that day, he said, "I don't even want to exchange words with former leader Han, but I am so dumbfounded that I have to say one more thing," adding, "He is claiming that I 'supported impeachment before, but now I am against it, changing my words.'"

He went on to explain that he had called for a vote against impeachment because of the following reasons: his clear opposition to impeachment, the belief that a united decision is better than division, and the overwhelming opposition to impeachment within the party.

Governor Kim stated, "The reason I used the expression 'yukchamgoldan' was because Han Donghoon's side was talking about supporting impeachment, so I thought it might actually pass, which is why I expressed such a cold-hearted feeling," adding, "There is context and meaning between the lines in writing. You should study Korean again," he pointed out.

He continued, "Forcing the interpretation that participating in the impeachment vote and following due process means supporting impeachment is Han Donghoon's arbitrary interpretation," and added, "The claim that I did not request a correction at the time of the remarks is also completely untrue. Once again, I demand a correction and an apology."
