Yeongyang, Dreamed by Youth, Becomes a Reality
Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held a series of meetings starting from March 4th in Yeongyang-eup to engage with local youth and share various opinions related to youth policies.
This meeting served as an opportunity to explain policies for local youth and discuss various topics such as the realistic difficulties currently faced by young people and policy proposals that could provide practical help in the future. Topics closely related to the lives of youth, including employment, housing, and education issues, were discussed.
At this meeting, the following commitments were made targeting young people: ▲ support for marriage, pregnancy and childbirth, and infant and toddler care ▲ support for revitalizing public education to nurture the region’s future ▲ scholarship support to provide equal educational opportunities ▲ support for youth independence such as 1:1 matching youth savings, single-parent family childcare expenses, and housing rental fees ▲ and support for youth-led agricultural sectors reflecting regional characteristics, promising realistic and concrete policy implementation.
County Governor Oh Do-chang stated, “Through today’s meeting, we will reflect the difficulties faced by young people and create a city where youth can settle down stably and happily,” adding, “We will actively discover and implement youth policies that support the independence and growth of local youth.”
