Highly Rated for Resident-Centered Policies and AI Administration
On the 5th, Buk-gu, Gwangju announced that it had been selected as an excellent institution for the seventh consecutive year in the "2024 Local Government Innovation Assessment" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
This assessment evaluated 243 local governments nationwide based on 11 indicators, including the innovation leadership of the head of the institution, improvement of organizational culture, data and AI administration, and residents’ satisfaction.
Buk-gu received high marks for its "Each Person Pays Campaign" to innovate organizational culture, the operation of the "Cheongnyeom Deokiumdan" for integrity, and administrative communication with residents. The "Creating Neighborhood Alley-Type Shopping Districts" project was selected as an excellent case by revitalizing local business districts through the expansion of Onnuri Gift Certificate member stores.
Additionally, the "Smart Senior Center" project gained positive responses from residents by providing non-face-to-face video equipment and kiosks to senior centers, and the "Drone and AI Wildfire Management Platform," established in cooperation with KEPCO, was cited as an outstanding example of public-private partnership.
Buk-gu received the "Excellent" grade, given to the top 61 local governments, and will be awarded an institutional commendation and prize money.
