Restoration Work Completed, Including Debris Removal

Meanwhile, the Korea Expressway Corporation conducted safety inspections of the nearby bridge piers on National Route 34, post-environmental impact assessments, and restoration work including the removal of debris under the Cheongryongcheon Bridge to prevent secondary damage. After on-site inspections with related agencies such as the Daejeon Regional Land Management Office, the decision was made to reopen the road.
Earlier, at 9:49 a.m. on the 25th of last month, the upper deck of a pier collapsed at the Cheongryongcheon Bridge construction site on the Sejong~Pocheon Expressway heading toward Pocheon in the Sanpyeong-ri area of Seoun-myeon, Anseong City. As a result of this accident, 10 workers on site fell and were buried; 4 died and 6 were injured.
Immediately after the accident, the city formed a Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters chaired by Mayor Kim Bora, operated an emergency duty team to support the bereaved families, and held meetings with related agencies. Subsequently, an emergency communication system was established with the project owner and construction company, and professional psychological counseling has been continuously provided to affected families, witnesses, and village residents. On the 4th, Anseong City, Korea Expressway Corporation, and the construction company also held a residents' briefing session regarding various compensations, including transportation support for village residents.
Mayor Kim stated, "We will do our best to ensure that group counseling sessions can be steadily conducted at senior centers and other locations for those suffering from mental distress due to this accident."
