Eonyang Sports Park Park Golf Course to Break Ground in March
Ulju Park Golf Course (Onyang) Construction to Begin in July
Ulsan Ulju-gun is becoming a hub for park golf as it continues to promote the creation of eco-friendly park golf courses in the areas of Eonyang-eup and Onyang-eup.
Ulju-gun plans to begin construction of the ‘Eonyang Sports Park Park Golf Course’ this month and complete it by December next year. Following this, administrative procedures for the ‘Ulju Park Golf Course (Onyang)’ will be finalized in the first half of this year, with construction starting in July.
The Eonyang Sports Park Park Golf Course will be developed in the Jikdong-ri area of Eonyang-eup, covering a total of 36 holes over 35,500㎡.
The western region of Ulju-gun is experiencing population growth due to developments such as the KTX station area, and the establishment of park golf courses is expected to contribute to local residents’ leisure activities and improve their quality of life.
The Ulju Park Golf Course will be located in the Gosan-ri area of Onyang-eup, with a total of 36 holes spanning 48,630㎡.
Nearby is Namchang Station, providing excellent transportation convenience, and it is close to Ulju-gun’s representative tourist site, Oegosan Onggi Village, allowing for linkage with the Onggi Festival, which is expected to attract many visitors.
Ulju-gun plans to operate these park golf courses as eco-friendly facilities. The goal is to prioritize the health of local residents and environmental protection by providing a sustainable space for recreational sports activities.
Considering the characteristics of park golf courses built along riversides, unlike regular golf courses, the use of herbicides and pesticides will be strictly prohibited, and eco-friendly management and operation policies will be established to minimize environmental impact.
Additionally, trees will be planted near residential areas close to the park golf courses to serve as sound barriers and prevent noise issues.
As the popularity of park golf continues to grow, Ulju-gun expects that once the Ulju Park Golf Course and Eonyang Sports Park Park Golf Course are completed, many visitors will come, contributing to the local economy and tourism revitalization, and providing economic benefits to residents.
An Ulju-gun official stated, “We will actively reflect residents’ opinions during the development of the Eonyang Sports Park Park Golf Course and Ulju Park Golf Course and promote the project in an eco-friendly manner to create facilities that satisfy everyone.”
