Dissemination of New Technologies and Training of Farmers
Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province announced on the 5th that it will invest 8 billion KRW to fully implement 54 pilot projects aimed at strengthening agricultural competitiveness.
Previously, on the 28th of last month, the city held the 'Jeongeup City Agricultural Industry-Academia Cooperation Deliberation Committee' meeting, where committee members were appointed and project participants were selected.

At the meeting, Mayor Lee Haksoo appointed 20 deliberation committee members, including city council members, representatives from Nonghyup, university professors, public officials related to agriculture, and heads of agricultural organizations.
Mayor Lee Haksoo stated, "As the city considers agriculture a core industry, we are establishing a collaborative system among industry, academia, and research institutes to maximize the effectiveness of our projects," and added, "We will actively reflect the opinions of the committee members and strengthen cooperation for the development of local agriculture."
During this deliberation, 54 projects were reviewed, focusing on the dissemination of new technologies, training of professional farmers, support for agricultural product processing technologies, and fostering sound agricultural managers.
Specifically, the projects include 13 in the food and livestock sector such as pilot projects for drone-based AI (air intake type) nozzles and spraying devices to reduce drift; 14 in the income crop sector such as pilot projects for stable production technologies for sensitive vegetables; and 27 in the rural society sector such as support projects for nurturing next-generation young farmers by incorporating new technologies.
Lee Yonggwan, Director of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, "These pilot projects incorporate new technologies developed by the Rural Development Administration and are expected to become the future growth engine of Jeongeup agriculture," and added, "We will do our best to enhance agricultural competitiveness and create a sustainable agricultural environment."
