Gumi City Expands '365 Dolbom Daycare Centers' to 6 Locations... Expecting to Fill Childcare Gaps Gumi-si, Gyeongbuk expands the '365 Care Daycare Centers' to 6 locations as a solution to care gaps.

Last year, 3,001 children used the ‘365 Care Daycare Centers,’ and a total of 14,455 hours of care services were provided. It was found that an average of 72 children used 353 hours per month, indicating that the program is contributing to effectively resolving care gaps.

Accordingly, to respond to the increasing demand for care and to eliminate blind spots in care by region, the city designated Yeonkkot Daycare Center (Doryang-dong) and National Public Progress Daycare Center (Sinpyeong 1-dong) starting in March. The two new daycare centers began full operation from the 1st.

The 365 Care Daycare Centers operate from 6 p.m. to midnight on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and public holidays. They are highly favored as they can be used not only by dual-income families but also in cases where care is needed due to overtime work, business trips, or hospital visits.

With this expansion, parents will be able to access care services closer to home, improving accessibility.

In particular, the burden of long-distance travel for parents who frequently work overtime or on weekends will be reduced, and children are expected to receive stable care in familiar environments.

Starting this year, qualitative improvements in care services will also be pursued.

Considering the high usage rate on weekends, age-specific customized programs will be expanded, and foreign care instructors will be invited. Plans include introducing Korean language learning, tablet-based education, and various play activities to support children’s systematic growth and development.

The 365 Care Daycare Centers are for preschool children aged six months and older, and reservations can be made up to one day in advance. However, same-day use is allowed in emergencies, and the service is free of charge, reducing economic burdens. For inquiries and reservations, contact the respective daycare centers.

Kim Jang-ho, Mayor of Gumi City, stated, "We will strengthen the emergency care system so that parents can entrust their children with peace of mind even in unexpected situations, and expand local care infrastructure to create a city that is good for having and raising children.”
