The "Paju City Housing Welfare Center" operates various housing welfare projects to ensure that all citizens can enjoy a stable residential environment. Major projects include ▲housing welfare counseling and education/promotion ▲support for victims of jeonse fraud ▲establishment of a public-private cooperative housing welfare network ▲customized housing environment improvement.
Since its opening, the center has increased citizens' access to housing welfare information by providing a "visiting housing welfare counseling service," conducting "housing welfare education" for public officials, and launching an official blog to share news about local housing welfare projects, rental housing announcements, and other housing welfare-related information.
Additionally, through customized housing environment improvement projects for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, disabled, and children, the center has supported 57 households over the past year with services worth approximately 59 million KRW, including wallpaper and flooring replacement, home repairs, disinfection and pest control, and essential daily supplies. In particular, by promoting the "Paju-type G-Housing Project," which utilizes resources and talent donations from private construction companies, the center has demonstrated the importance of mutual cooperation and solidarity within the local community by practicing a spirit of community.
Furthermore, the center established the province's first "Enforcement Rules on the Ordinance for Support of Jeonse Fraud and Jeonse Fraud Victims," providing a total of 63 million KRW in support to 62 households affected by jeonse fraud and vulnerable housing groups. This support includes ▲litigation expenses ▲monthly rent assistance ▲jeonse deposit return guarantee fee support ▲emergency housing support and moving expenses for tenants, helping victims recover from damages.
These efforts led to the center receiving the Encouragement Award at the "11th Housing Welfare Activity Excellence Case" hosted by the Korea Housing Welfare Forum on the 27th of last month.
This year, the center will newly launch the "Housing Upgrade Support Project for Vulnerable Housing Groups," which identifies vulnerable groups such as residents in abnormal dwellings, victims of domestic violence, and households below minimum housing standards, and supports their relocation to public rental housing.
Along with this, the center plans to expand the "Paju-type Housing Environment Improvement Project" in cooperation with social economy enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, and construction companies, and further expand housing welfare projects through the basic housing project aimed at promoting the "Paju-type Basic Society," striving to create a society where all citizens can enjoy a stable residential environment.
Paju City and the Paju City Housing Welfare Center will continue to build a sustainable system through strengthening housing stability for vulnerable groups and public-private cooperation so that all citizens can enjoy housing welfare.
