The People Power Party announced on the 2nd that Emergency Response Committee Chairman Kwon Young-se and Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong plan to visit former President Park's residence located in Dalseong-gun, Daegu on that day.
This will be the first time Floor Leader Kwon, who served as the impeachment prosecutor during former President Park's impeachment trial, visits her. As for Chairman Kwon, he previously served as the ambassador to China during the Park Geun-hye administration, and this will be his first visit to former President Park's residence in about three years since he visited with President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol in 2022.
The People Power Party leadership has been visiting former presidents from conservative parties consecutively, following their visit to former President Lee Myung-bak (MB) last month. In particular, since this visit takes place ahead of the impeachment trial verdict for President Yoon Suk-yeol, it is expected to be an occasion to seek advice on the political climate and party management direction.
Policy Committee Chairman Kim Sang-hoon, Chief Spokesperson Shin Dong-wook, Secretary General of the Emergency Response Committee Kang Myung-gu, and Secretary General for the Floor Leader Choi Eun-seok are also expected to accompany the visit.
