According to Hanam City on the 1st, various programs will be operated, ranging from support for employment education expenses to mentoring by current employees and job linkage, providing young people with practical employment opportunities.
First, Hanam City will alleviate the financial burden of young people preparing for employment through the ‘Employment Education Youth Support Project.’ It targets unemployed youth aged 19 to 39 who have lived in Hanam City for more than one year, providing up to 2 million KRW once in their lifetime for employment-related education expenses. Youth who have not been issued the National Tomorrow Learning Card can apply, and applications are currently being accepted on the Jobaba Apply website.
The ‘Youth Challenge Support Project’ is also operated for young people who have lost confidence during the job preparation process. It targets youth aged 18 to 34 who have not participated in employment or vocational training (HRD) in the past six months, helping to boost job-seeking motivation through customized programs and psychological counseling. Participation allowances and incentives are also provided if certain conditions are met.
The mentoring program with current employees will also be expanded.
The ‘Youth Employment Mentoring with Current Employees of Large Corporations’ offers an opportunity to receive practical advice on interested job roles and consult on difficulties during the job preparation process. This year, employees from Chanel Korea have been added as mentors to provide mentoring in various companies and job fields. Mentoring sessions are held online via Zoom on the last Saturday of each month, and participants can join up to three times a year. Applications can be made through the Jobaba Apply website.
Hanam City also operates the ‘Youth Recruitment Zone (ZONE)’ to expand job linkage opportunities.
The Youth Recruitment ZONE is a small-scale recruitment event that provides practical employment opportunities to job-seeking youth through a one-stop process from resume submission on-site to interviews and real-time hiring. Last year, 103 young people participated in interviews, and 16 were finally hired.
This year, it is scheduled to be held twice, in the first and second halves of the year, with the first half event taking place at 2 p.m. on April 24 at the Gyeonggi Startup Innovation Space Eastern Region Hanam. Companies are currently being recruited, and applications from job-seeking youth will be accepted starting in March. Companies wishing to participate should check the announcement posted on the city’s website, complete related documents such as the company participation application and job request form, and submit them via email to the Youth Job Department contact by March 23.
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae said, “We operate various employment support programs to help young people design a better future,” and added, “We ask for your interest and participation so that young people can take a strong first step into social life by utilizing the employment support projects.”
