Governor Kim Tae-heum:
"This Will Help Navigate the Waves of External Uncertainty"
On the afternoon of the 27th, Chungnam Province appointed Chui Huan, President of the Korea-China Cultural Friendship Association, as its Trade Advisor to China in a ceremony held at the provincial government office's reception room.
This appointment marks the fifth time the province has designated a trade advisor, following those for Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Australia, and Mexico.
The appointment of a Trade Advisor to China is a strategic measure to expand the province's global economic network and further strengthen cooperation with China, as Korea-China relations are entering a thawing phase.
Chui Huan, the newly appointed Trade Advisor to China, has served as President of the Korea-China Cultural Friendship Association since 2007 and is recognized for leading exchanges in various fields such as culture and arts between Korea and China.
Going forward, the Trade Advisor to China will lead active exchanges between the province and China, including support for mediation and brokerage for local small and medium-sized enterprises, assistance for international exchanges and cooperation in public diplomacy and culture and arts, and promotion of public diplomacy initiatives.
The province expects that this appointment will further vitalize economic and cultural cooperation between Chungnam and China and have a positive impact on expanding mutual exchanges between the two countries.
Governor Kim Tae-heum stated, "As external uncertainties such as the recent intensification of US-China trade conflicts and the global economic slowdown are higher than ever, the province has appointed a trade advisor well-versed in China to help the regional economy navigate these challenges without significant damage," adding, "We will actively support expanding exchanges with China and help local companies become more competitive in the Chinese market."
China is Chungnam Province's top partner for exchanges, with sister city and friendly cooperative relationships established with 13 regions in China.
