Amidst the recent erosion of customer trust in the financial market, the declaration aims to enhance trust within the industry and establish leading customer protection standards. Through this, Mirae Asset plans to implement its management policy that emphasizes transparency and honesty. In particular, it strongly expresses its commitment to leading a customer-centric transformation for the careful management and protection of pension customers' retirement assets and the future assets of younger generations.
Based on the company vision to contribute to customers' successful asset management and peaceful retirement, Mirae Asset Securities announced three measures. First, it will not recommend high-risk products that rely on short-term volatility, such as high-leverage and inverse Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), and will provide long-term investment strategies focusing on markets and companies that have competitiveness through innovation.
Second, for complex structured products such as covered calls and Equity-Linked Securities (ELS), it will transparently explain the risk factors and characteristics in an easily understandable manner and actively support customer asset management through customized consultations.
Third, it will apply stronger principles and higher standards to risk management of customer assets such as pensions, actively assist in asset rebalancing, and support customers in achieving their investment goals through an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based asset management system.
A representative of Mirae Asset Securities stated, "This customer protection declaration prioritizes 'responsibility' over 'profit' and 'customer protection' over 'sales,'" adding, "As part of such risk management, new collateral loans related to Tesla and quantum computing stocks will be temporarily restricted."
