Shinyoung Securities announced on the 27th that it held the ‘Shinyoung Art-Up Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony’ at its headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.
This event was a closing ceremony for the three scholarship programs operated jointly by Shinyoung Securities and the Korea National University of Arts (K’ARTS): ▲Shinyoung Culture Challenge ▲Shinyoung Culture Dream-Up ▲Shinyoung New Frontier. Officials from Shinyoung Securities and K’ARTS, as well as scholarship recipients and awardees from each program, attended the event to celebrate the occasion.
Marking its 10th year, the Shinyoung Culture Challenge supports students’ original music creations and was conducted in two categories: ▲Biz Ring ▲Shinyoung Atelier. In the Biz Ring category, the work ‘Pureun Namu Araeseo’ (Under the Blue Tree) by students Cha Taeguk and Eun Seoyoung won the grand prize. ‘Pureun Namu Araeseo’ features a lively and warm melody and is scheduled to be used as Shinyoung Securities’ phone ringtone this year. The Shinyoung Atelier category, newly established to support the development of the domestic music scene and contemporary music creation, selects outstanding students from K’ARTS and commissions works from them on behalf of Shinyoung Securities. In this category, the piece ‘Supermarktmusik #2’ by student Lee Haneuri was selected. Lee Haneuri recently gained global attention by winning the Bart?k International Composition Competition in Hungary, and ‘Supermarktmusik #2’ is set to premiere in June at the Shinyoung Chamber Hall.
The Shinyoung Culture Dream-Up program supports students with high potential in various fields by providing financial support for participation in prestigious international competitions and festivals. Out of 30 applicants, 11 students were selected.
The Shinyoung New Frontier program supports the visual arts field by offering young artists exhibition opportunities. This year, a total of 48 exhibition proposals were submitted, and 8 were selected. The exhibitions are scheduled to be held in April at Art Space 3 in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
A representative from Shinyoung Securities stated, “We are pleased that many students can fully realize their potential in various fields through the scholarship programs conducted with K’ARTS,” and added, “We will continue to support the growth of K’ARTS students in even more diverse ways in the future.”
