Various Items Featuring Signature Designs Attract Attention
Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Donghoon) announced on the 27th that it will present Burberry's new collection as the season of trench coats, spring, approaches.
Located on the second floor of the main building, Burberry is showcasing a collection featuring its signature trench coats along with a variety of materials and colors. Currently, Burberry has temporarily moved its store to the second floor to operate a pop-up location, as the original first-floor store is being renovated to create a more comfortable space.
Burberry is a global luxury brand headquartered in London, carrying on its authentic British heritage since its founding in 1856.
As spring approaches, Burberry's trench coat, which is gaining attention, was originally designed to protect the body from the unpredictable British weather. With its timeless classic style and innovative design, it has been loved by people of all ages around the world for over 100 years.
The origin of the trench coat traces back to the Tielocken. In 1912, Burberry patented this coat, which featured the gabardine fabric invented by founder Thomas Burberry. Its innovative design is characterized by fastening with a belt instead of buttons.
The gabardine fabric boasts exceptional durability and practicality, having even been used for functional clothing for Antarctic explorers.
This year, as always, Burberry's signature 'Heritage Collection' presents a wide variety of trench coats that showcase the brand's history.
The collection consists of 43 signature fits, including Chelsea, Kensington, Waterloo, and Camden. All heritage coats are made in the Castleford region of England, and every design element of the trench is completed through the craftsmanship of skilled artisans.
The precise stitching of the collar takes a year to master, with eight individual components and 200 stitches creating a graceful curve that allows the collar to fit perfectly around the neck. Details such as buttons and belt loops are all finished by hand.
Shim Hansung, head of the accessories team at Gwangju Shinsegae, said, "You will be able to find not only trench coats, which are essential for spring weather, but also a variety of other items," adding, "We hope you will visit the store and experience Burberry's heritage items firsthand."
