Hongseong County Launches Campaign to Encourage Local Resident Registration

Guidance on Residency Registration
with County Mayor Lee Yongrok, County Council Members,
and Village Leaders

Hongseong County Launches Campaign to Encourage Local Resident Registration County Governor Lee Yongrok and heads of organizations conducting a campaign to promote obtaining resident registration in my hometown

On the morning of the 27th, starting at 6 a.m., Hongseong County in Chungnam held a promotional campaign for the "Register Your Residency in Your Hometown" movement in the Naepo New Town area of Hongbuk-eup. The event was attended by over 80 participants, including County Mayor Lee Yongrok, county council members, heads of various institutions and organizations, and village leaders.

The county believes that for the population of Hongbuk-eup in Naepo New Town, where the Chungnam Provincial Government is located, to surpass 35,000 and further accelerate population growth and solidify its role as a driving force in the development of Naepo New Town, the population increase in Hongbuk-eup must continue.

According to the county, various apartment complexes and development projects are being concentrated in Naepo New Town, and as the core area, Hongbuk-eup is greatly contributing to population growth. However, it has been found that a significant number of households in densely populated areas such as apartments and officetels have yet to file their residency registration.

Accordingly, during the campaign, the county focused on promoting the importance of registering residency in one's hometown and providing information on how to file a residency report, targeting the large number of people commuting during the morning rush hour. They also actively advertised the various benefits offered to new residents.

As part of its population growth policy, the county has been providing new residents with a Hongseong Love Gift Certificate worth 30,000 won, a set of the national flag, and 20 volume-based waste disposal bags (20L). For students (middle school, high school, and university), the county provides 200,000 won upon moving in and an additional 200,000 won if the address is maintained for six months.

Additionally, the county is actively working to attract new residents by offering various incentives, such as a 300,000 won relocation support grant and Hongseong Love Gift Certificates to employees of institutions and companies who move into the area.

Meanwhile, the current population of Hongseong County stands at 99,556, and with ongoing and proactive population growth initiatives, the county is on the verge of reaching the 100,000 mark.
