Gwangju Christian Hospital (Director Lee Seungwook) announced on the 27th that it discussed measures to activate professional medical referrals, returns, and the establishment of a regional medical delivery system through a system with Chosun University Hospital.
The meeting, held on the 3rd floor conference room of Gwangju Christian Hospital on the 26th, was attended by Director Lee Seungwook, Planning Director Hong Geonyoung, Medical Director Ko Youngchun, Administrative Director Lee Jungyeol, External Medical Cooperation Center Manager Seo Jeonga and nurses, as well as Chosun University Hospital Director Kim Jin-ho, External Cooperation Director Kim Yuseok, and Medical Cooperation Center Chief Nurse Yang Jieun.
The main topics included discussions on the support project for restructuring tertiary general hospitals, essential requirements for cooperative hospitals, system-based referrals and returns, management of returned patients, and the FAST TRACK system. The support project for restructuring tertiary general hospitals aims to encourage solid cooperative care and alleviate patient concentration at large hospitals by partially compensating costs incurred during the referral and return process between clinics, hospitals, and general hospitals through health insurance.
The three-stage pilot project includes differentiated increases in referral fees according to the stage of referral, exemption of out-of-pocket expenses based on the reason for referral, and expansion of additional referral regions within the same metropolitan city or province outside the capital area. Through this, the project aims to establish a medical delivery system by strengthening referrals step by step, promote substantial exchange of medical information, and support the activation of referrals within the region.
Gwangju Christian Hospital and Chosun University Hospital agreed to cooperate so that patients can receive the best possible treatment in a timely manner through a patient-centered partnership. In addition, they decided to actively cooperate in severe and emergency cases even during emergency medical operations through a hotline, and to use this as an opportunity for mutual growth between the two hospitals.
Director Lee Seungwook said, "We have expanded the External Medical Cooperation Center and added more staff this time," and added, "We will do our best to cooperate so that patients do not miss out on treatment and to become a medical institution responsible for the health of local residents."
