Gwangju Dong-gu (District Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 27th that it has been selected as an excellent institution for the eighth consecutive year since 2017 in the "2024 Local Government Innovation Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
This evaluation was conducted for 243 metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide. The results were determined by experts and a national evaluation panel based on 11 detailed indicators, including: ▲the head of institution's innovation leadership ▲participation and internalization of innovation activities ▲solving livelihood issues through field-oriented communication ▲improvement of resident services and closing administrative blind spots ▲innovation in work methods and improvement of organizational culture ▲identification and response to policy tasks for future generations.
Dong-gu received high marks for its innovative policies that communicate with residents, such as ▲Village Talk Talk "Dialogue with Residents" ▲resident-led communication and sharing hub "Maeul Sarangchae" ▲support project for residents of jjokbang (small room) housing ▲Dong-gu-Hwasun win-win cooperation project ▲resource circulation platform "Dongguramion(ON)" ▲early intervention service for developmental disabilities "Nori Baljaguk."
Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, "I believe that being selected as an excellent institution for eight consecutive years in this local government innovation evaluation is the result of our continuous efforts for administrative innovation and revitalizing resident participation," and added, "We will continue to strive for innovative administration together with residents, so that they can truly feel the changes."
