Jeju-do to Provide Additional Delivery Fee Support for Couriers... Up to 400,000 Won Per Person

Online and Offline Applications Available via Website and Local Community Centers

Jeju-do to Provide Additional Delivery Fee Support for Couriers... Up to 400,000 Won Per Person Jeju Island Government Office.

Jeju Special Self-Governing Province will launch the "Island Area Daily Logistics Shipping Cost Support Project" on March 4 to reduce the burden of delivery fees for residents. This project provides financial support for additional delivery costs incurred compared to other regions outside Jeju.

To ensure smooth application for the additional delivery fee support project, Jeju Province has revamped its website and distributed guidebooks for applicants at local community centers in each town and district.

The maximum support amount is 400,000 KRW per person. For incoming parcels, up to 400,000 KRW can be claimed, and for outgoing parcels, up to 200,000 KRW. If the additional delivery fee is specified, the full amount will be supported; if not specified, 3,000 KRW per case will be provided. This year, the support will be retroactively applied to delivery fees paid after January 1, 2025. Proof of incoming parcels includes a copy of the delivery invoice or completed delivery records and payment details under the applicant's name.

From this year, the requirements for outgoing parcel documentation have been strengthened. Applicants must submit a copy of the delivery invoice listing themselves as the sender, completed delivery records, or payment details for delivery fees. Excel or handwritten records from delivery agencies, which were previously accepted, will no longer be recognized.

Jeju Province is strengthening cooperation with the Korea Integrated Logistics Association to inform about these changes. The province has requested the association to distribute official notices and provide guidance to local delivery companies in Jeju, and held business meetings with the heads of major courier companies in Jeju, including CJ Logistics, Hanjin Express, Lotte Global Logistics, and Logen Logistics, asking for proper management of receipts for personal parcel shipments.

Applications can be submitted through the Jeju Province website or at local community centers. The application period runs from March 4 to November 28, but may close early if the budget is exhausted.

Kim Miyoung, Director of Economic Vitality for Jeju Province, said, "This support project will substantially reduce the logistics cost burden for Jeju residents," and added, "We will strengthen promotion and guidance so that more residents can benefit."
