Gwangju City Library announced on the 27th that it held the '2025 Small Library Operators Workshop' at Mudeung Library on the 26th, with over 100 participants including small library operators in attendance.
This workshop featured a keynote lecture by Park Minju, Director of Seongseong Pureun Library, titled "There Is a Reason Why Some Libraries Thrive," followed by information on subsidy support projects for the revitalization of small libraries and plans for the operation of the support center.
The City Library established the Small Library Support Center in 2014 to promote the activation of small libraries. The center operates various programs such as touring art exhibitions, citizen participation library schools, and support for Reading Month and Culture Month events. Song Kyunghee, Director of the City Library, said, "The workshop provided an opportunity for professional training necessary for small library operations, information exchange among operators, and learning about outstanding cases from other regions," and added, "We will continue our efforts to revitalize small libraries through various projects in the future."
