The Busan Transportation Corporation football team, aiming to reclaim its status as a powerhouse in semi-professional football, embarks on a 254-day journey starting with the Samiljeol opening match.
The Busan Transportation Corporation football team (President and club owner Lee Byung-jin) will play its home opener against Yeoju FC at 2 p.m. on March 1 at Gudeok Stadium in Seo-gu, Busan.
As the opening match is held at Busan’s home ground, the team’s determination is exceptional. Newly appointed head coach Baek Ki-hong of the Busan Transportation Corporation football team expressed his bold resolve, saying, “We will shake off the slump of the past two years and restore the glory of a semi-professional football powerhouse.”
During this off-season, the team undertook a complete overhaul, replacing not only the head coach and coaching staff but also the players, aiming to improve the team’s constitution. Based on a fair process, they appointed the skilled coach Baek Ki-hong and expanded and reorganized the coaching staff based on the specialization that is key to modern football, forming a high-quality coaching team as the starting point.
By introducing a training camp test, the team successfully improved the player roster by recruiting many talented players. The Busan Transportation Corporation football team significantly revamped its squad with young players rich in upper-league experience, including 20-year-old former youth national team player Ahn Chi-woo. This successful generational change is also evaluated as an upgrade in the team’s overall strength.
In addition, efforts were made to enhance the quality and diversify the methods of training. Scientific training based on advanced equipment such as wearable devices (EPTS) that collect player activity data and game analysis cameras, along with physical training to prevent injuries and tactical training to improve performance, were conducted simultaneously, greatly improving the players’ skills. Furthermore, the team has been steadily preparing for this season’s leap forward by raising their match readiness through practice games against upper-league teams.
