Hanwha TotalEnergies is once again supporting youth under protection in the Seosan area of South Chungcheong Province this year, encouraging students as they take their first steps into society.
On the 26th, Hanwha TotalEnergies announced that it held a "Support Fund Delivery Ceremony for Local Youth Under Protection" at the Seosan Welfare Foundation, attended by the beneficiary youths, Hanwha TotalEnergies Executive Vice President for Communications Noh Sungjoo, Seosan Welfare Foundation Chairman Jang Gapsun, and others.
Since last year, Hanwha TotalEnergies has been running a sponsorship program to help youth under protection in Seosan who turn 19 to become independent and grow into responsible members of society.
Youth preparing for independence leave protective facilities or foster homes after graduating from high school, and Hanwha TotalEnergies has continued its sponsorship program to provide some support as they begin their first steps into society.
After supporting seven youths last year, Hanwha TotalEnergies has expanded the program to ten recipients this year. Each youth will receive 500,000 KRW per month for a year, totaling 6 million KRW, with Hanwha TotalEnergies donating a total of 60 million KRW for this purpose.
The sponsorship funds from Hanwha TotalEnergies are managed by the Seosan Welfare Foundation, utilizing resources donated to the Community Chest of Korea.
In addition to supporting youth under protection, Hanwha TotalEnergies is also engaged in various initiatives to support local youth. These include scholarship programs for high school students in Seosan to help with their studies and foster future talent for the local community, as well as development fund donations to schools near the Daesan plant, actively contributing to the creation of future value in the community through talent development support.
A representative from Hanwha TotalEnergies stated, "The youth sponsorship program that began last year is a small but meaningful social contribution activity that helps young people who are about to embark on a new beginning," and added, "We will continue to show interest and provide support to nurture the talents who will lead the Seosan region in the future."
