Gijang Anti-Japanese Movement Memorial Tower Square

Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) will hold the '106th Samiljeol Commemoration Ceremony' at 10 a.m. on March 1st at the Gijang Anti-Japanese Movement Memorial Tower Square in Saemaeul Children's Park, Gijang-eup, to mark the 106th anniversary of Samiljeol.
This event was organized to honor the noble spirit of the patriotic martyrs of Gijang-gun who fought for independence during the Japanese colonial period and to promote love for the country and national spirit.
The ceremony will be held with about 300 attendees, including descendants of independence activists from Gijang-eup, and will proceed in the order of ▲ reading of the commemorative text ▲ commemorative address ▲ flower offering and incense burning ▲ singing of the Samiljeol song ▲ and three cheers for independence.
Prior to the ceremony, there will be pre-ceremony performances including the Seungmu dance by the 'Traditional Dance Association' and a choir performance by the 'Gijang Haesong Women's Choir.'
Governor Jeong Jong-bok said, "I hope this Samiljeol event will serve as an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of the anti-Japanese movement and the noble spirit of our patriotic martyrs," and added, "I also ask all residents to participate in the responsibility of proudly passing down our history to future generations by displaying the national flag in every household."
