Starting from February 27, NH NongHyup Bank retirement pension customers will be able to trade the ‘KIWOOM US Quantum Computing’ Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) in their Defined Contribution (DC) retirement pension and Individual Retirement Pension (IRP) accounts.
The NH NongHyup Bank Retirement Pension Division will be the first among domestic banks to add the ‘KIWOOM US Quantum Computing’ ETF to the lineup of investment products available in DC retirement pension and IRP accounts. As domestic and international investor interest in the US quantum computing industry grows, NH NongHyup Bank aims to provide its retirement pension customers with expanded opportunities to invest proactively in emerging industries.
The ‘KIWOOM US Quantum Computing’ ETF, which was listed on December 17 last year, invests in about 20 leading US quantum computing companies, including IonQ, IBM, Nvidia, and Alphabet. It features a balanced portfolio that includes quantum technology-focused small and mid-cap stocks such as IonQ, as well as big tech companies expanding their quantum computing businesses based on advanced technology. By utilizing this ETF, investors can easily diversify their investments across the potential and growth of quantum computing technology.
Quantum computing, which boasts ultra-fast computational capabilities surpassing those of supercomputers, is emerging as a core technology of the new industrial revolution, excelling in fields such as cryptography and optimization problem-solving. Quantum computing is expected to drive disruptive innovation by being applied across various industries, including finance, pharmaceuticals, new material development, aerospace, and security.
Lee Youngwoo, Head of Investment Product Asset Management at NH NongHyup Bank, stated, “In line with the motto ‘Agriculture is the foundation of the world’s prosperity and a centennial plan,’ we are differentiating our product lineup for retirement pension ETFs to ensure that retirement pension customers can manage their valuable assets in a long-term and stable manner.” He added, “With the launch of the US Quantum Computing ETF-the first of its kind among banks-NH NongHyup Bank will continue its relentless efforts to help retirement pension customers achieve long-term asset growth and excellent returns.”
