Seosan City in Chungnam announced on the 26th that the Samgilpo Ureok Festival received a Special Award in the Festival Program category at the 13th Korea Festival Content Awards.
The Korea Festival Content Awards, hosted by the Korea Content Association, recognizes festivals that have made significant contributions to the regional festival content industry.
The participatory festival "Samgilpo Ureok Festival," enjoyed by families, has gained great popularity by offering food, attractions, and entertainment centered around Ureok, the signature seafood of Samgilpo Port.
Popular annual programs such as the Ureok trap fishing experience and bare-handed eel catching attract many family visitors, providing them with enjoyable moments.
Events like the Ureok tasting, which allow visitors to experience the excellent quality of local seafood, contribute to the promotion of seafood, and other activities such as the Daesan Residents Song Festival and local cultural and artistic performances are also held.
This year marks the 19th Samgilpo Ureok Festival, which will be held for two days from August 23 to 24.
Mayor Lee Wan-seop said, "I hope that the Samgilpo Ureok Festival, which is held every year to great acclaim from visitors, will become even more widely known through this award," and added, "We will do our best to prepare so that this year's Samgilpo Ureok Festival can provide visitors with joyful memories."
