Expanded as a Key Pledge of the 8th Popularly Elected Administration
Support Provided for 88% of Applications
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 26th that it will promote this year’s customized agricultural mechanization support project, which has received great response from farmers, to ensure that all farmers can benefit equally.
The customized agricultural mechanization support project is designed to address labor shortages due to aging and feminization in rural areas and to provide convenience in farming operations. It supports up to 50% of the purchase cost of agricultural machinery, with a maximum limit of 15 million KRW, for registered farming households and corporations that have resided in the area for more than one year. This project has received strong support from farmers.
Hapcheon-gun plans to invest a budget of 1.882 billion KRW to select 426 farms that have passed the eligibility screening for agricultural machinery subsidy applicants as project beneficiaries and supply the machinery before the busy farming season.
Meanwhile, Hapcheon-gun established the first nationwide agricultural machinery subsidy support system in 2008 to prevent fraudulent receipt and duplicate support of agricultural machinery subsidies. This system systematically manages subsidy applications, beneficiary selection, settlement, and post-management, becoming a role model for local governments across the country.
In addition, for agricultural machinery models subject to insurance such as cultivators, tractors, combines, and riding rice transplanters, which frequently experience accidents, the county mandates comprehensive agricultural machinery insurance enrollment upon purchase to promote safety accident prevention measures for farmers.
County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol stated, “Through continuous and long-term support, we will enhance the sustainability of agriculture and strengthen agricultural competitiveness by preparing various support measures to ensure stable farming and improve agricultural competitiveness.”
