Full-Scale Capture Activities of Wild Boars and Other Wildlife to Continue Until December
Goheung County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Youngmin) announced on the 25th that it conducted a safety training session for the Damage Prevention Team at the Goheung Culture Center seminar room on the 20th, in preparation for the full-scale operation of the 2025 Nuisance Wildlife Damage Prevention Team.
This safety training was conducted for the Damage Prevention Team, which consists of professional hunters recruited in December last year. It was organized to prevent crop and human damage caused by nuisance wildlife such as wild boars and water deer, and to respond to the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF).

The training covered prevention of safety accidents related to firearm use during capture activities and compliance matters, as well as guidelines for responding to African Swine Fever (ASF).
The Nuisance Wildlife Damage Prevention Team is scheduled to operate until December this year. When residents suffer crop or property damage from wildlife and report it to the county's Environmental Forestry Division or local town offices, the team will be dispatched to the site to capture the animals.
In addition, to block the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF), the team will also conduct intensive wild boar capture, carcass monitoring, poaching surveillance, and rescue of injured animals.
A county official stated, "Through the operation of the Nuisance Wildlife Damage Prevention Team, we will do our best to prevent damage to crops and property and to block the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF), thereby protecting the safety and assets of our residents."
