Gumi Local Food Seeks Win-Win Cooperation with Local Farmers through Hanwoo Beef and Uri Wheat

Various Local Specialties Including Korean Beef, Pork, and Domestic Wheat Products to Be Showcased

A special event to promote the consumption of local food in the Gumi area of Gyeongbuk will be held.

On the 25th, Kim Jang-ho, director of the Gumi Food Integrated Support Center Foundation, announced that from the 28th to the 3rd of next month, the event "Gumi Local Food, Embracing Korean Beef and Domestic Wheat" will be held at the Gumi Local Food Direct Store Geumosan Branch.

This event was planned to allow visitors to experience various local foods produced in the Gumi area, including Korean beef, pork, and processed domestic wheat products, all in one place.

During the event, Korean beef and pork from Gumi livestock farms will be offered at prices lower than the market, allowing consumers to directly experience high-quality local food. Additionally, processed domestic wheat products produced by local farms such as ▲macarons (Etidang) ▲domestic wheat tteokbokki (Tokkimil) ▲domestic wheat flour (Saemmul Agricultural Cooperative Corporation) will also be showcased.

The Gumi Local Food Direct Store recorded 270,000 visitors and sales of 4.9 billion KRW last year, maintaining steady growth.

This year, the goal is to achieve sales of 7 billion KRW by expanding the number of supplying farms and increasing consumer memberships.

Currently, the Gumi Local Food Direct Store operates the Geumosan Branch and the Seonsan Rest Area Branch, which opened in June last year, enhancing consumer accessibility.

Director Kim emphasized, "This event aims to provide safe and fresh food to Gumi citizens while expanding sales channels for local farms," adding, "We will continue to prepare various support measures to ensure stable sales of local agricultural and livestock products."

Meanwhile, the Gumi Local Food Direct Store serves as a direct transaction platform connecting consumers with fresh agricultural and livestock products produced directly by local farmers, contributing to regional economic revitalization and strengthening food safety.
