Implementation of a Comprehensive Plan for Spring Wildfire Prevention
Establishing a Rapid Initial Response System
Uiseong-gun has established a comprehensive wildfire prevention plan for the spring season and is making all-out efforts to respond.
The county is proactively collecting and shredding 14 hectares of agricultural by-products near forest areas early to prevent wildfire causes in advance. Additionally, a rapid response team is deployed for nighttime wildfire response and operates until 10 p.m., establishing a thorough wildfire suppression system.
Furthermore, by utilizing wildfire advisors, the county is working to strengthen the capabilities of specialized wildfire suppression personnel. Weekly wildfire suppression drills and safety education are conducted to establish an initial suppression posture. Through this, the county aims to minimize human and material damage by responding swiftly when wildfires occur.
In particular, during the wildfire prevention period, Uiseong-gun independently rents a wildfire suppression helicopter to enhance aerial guidance activities and improve the efficiency of suppression operations. This approach raises residents' awareness of wildfire prevention and prevents the spread of damage through rapid initial suppression.
Kim Jusu, the governor of Uiseong-gun, stated, "We will thoroughly implement the comprehensive plan during the spring wildfire caution period and actively utilize advanced equipment such as drones and unmanned surveillance cameras for wildfire monitoring." He added, "We hope that residents will also maintain awareness of wildfire prevention and actively cooperate."
