Shinsegae Tomboy Voluntarily Refunds Down Jumpers... Filling Material Below Standard

Nine VOV Products and Four JIGGUT Products Affected
Sold as Goose Down, Actually Filled with Duck Down

Shinsegae International's subsidiary Shinsegae Tomboy announced on the 24th that it will conduct voluntary refunds for 13 types of down jumpers sold under the women's clothing brands 'VOV' and 'JIGGUT'.

On the same day, Shinsegae Tomboy posted an apology letter under the name of CEO William Kim, stating that it will proceed with voluntary refunds for 13 types of down jumpers sold under the women's clothing brands VOV (9 items) and JIGGUT (4 items). This measure was decided to fulfill responsibility to customers and to restore customer trust by improving the quality management system.

Shinsegae Tomboy recently conducted its own quality inspection on products from all partner companies supplying down products. As a result, it was identified that 13 goose down products supplied by one partner company, Company A, used duck down as the filling material. The investigation revealed that Company A submitted false test reports on the down to Shinsegae Tomboy and used an unverified filling material supplier.

Upon confirming the quality issue, Shinsegae Tomboy immediately stopped selling the products and is currently recalling the items in distribution. Additionally, it plans to terminate transactions with the partner company and take legal action.

CEO Kim stated, “To prevent recurrence and restore trust, we will fundamentally improve the quality management system by strengthening step-by-step quality verification throughout the entire product manufacturing process and completely reorganizing the partner management system. We sincerely apologize once again to customers who have experienced inconvenience due to this matter and to those who have loved VOV and JIGGUT.”
