Damyang County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 24th that it had achieved the target number of steps in its donation walking challenge using the mobile walking app 'WalkOn', and donated 2.5 million won worth of cultural gift certificates to the Regional Child Center Association (President Seo Dongmyeong) on the same day.


This donation walking challenge, held under the theme 'Making the World Valuable through Donation', took place over 30 days until the 20th. It was organized not only to promote the health of county residents but also to foster a warm community atmosphere of sharing with local citizens.


During the challenge period, 1,304 people participated and achieved more than 250 million steps, far exceeding the target of 100 million steps. As a result, cultural gift certificates worth 2.5 million won were donated to local child centers. The donation will be delivered to children and youth using each regional child center.


An official from the county said, "Thanks to the participation of many residents in this walking donation challenge, we were able to achieve the target number of steps," and added, "We hope that Damyang will become a place where it is good to have and raise children, and that the valuable culture of donating while taking care of one's health will spread throughout the community."


Meanwhile, Damyang County is conducting various walking challenges on the mobile application 'WalkOn' to encourage walking exercise in daily life. Residents who wish to participate in the challenges can join by installing WalkOn and registering in the Damyang County community.
