The Namwon City Public Health Center in Jeollabuk-do will conduct inspections on 63 establishments that prepare and sell children's favorite foods within the Food Safety Protection Zone until the 26th.

According to the city on the 24th, this inspection aims to promote healthy eating habits and create a safe and healthy food purchasing environment by conducting hygiene checks on establishments near schools and academies that are frequented by children.

The establishments subject to inspection include school stores, stationery shops, snack bars, convenience stores, general restaurants, and rest area restaurants located within 200 meters of schools in the Children's Food Safety Protection Zone.

The inspection team, consisting of one public official and four dedicated children's favorite food supervisors, will check the hygiene management of cooking facilities and utensils, the storage status of ingredients, whether expired products are displayed or stored, and compliance with storage standards for frozen and refrigerated foods. They will also conduct educational and promotional activities to prevent food poisoning.

A city official stated, "Since these foods are easily accessible to children, we will strengthen preemptive safety management to ensure that food is prepared and sold safely."
