Collaboration with Loop Industries and Pleats Mama
"Expanding Next-Generation Eco-Friendly Solutions"
Hyosung TNC has created an eco-friendly bag made from yarn extracted from waste fibers through global collaboration.
Hyosung TNC announced on the 24th that it collaborated with Canadian PET chip manufacturer 'Loop Industries' and domestic eco-fashion brand 'Pleats Mama' to produce an eco-friendly bag. Loop Industries is a company that develops and manufactures clothing yarns and PET chips in the North American region. While the main material for PET chips is transparent PET bottles, Loop Industries chemically recycles 100% of various PET waste, including fibers, beyond just transparent PET bottles, producing high-quality PET chips.

Hyosung TNC utilized the 'Textile to Textile (T2T) chip,' a PET chip made from waste fiber polyester by Loop Industries, to spin polyester yarn. Pleats Mama designed and produced an aesthetically pleasing eco-friendly bag using this yarn. This collaboration is significant in that it completed a supply chain based on the T2T recycling technology, which has excellent carbon reduction effects, covering ▲raw material supply ▲yarn processing ▲fashion product manufacturing.
Hyosung TNC expects to strengthen its position as a leader in the eco-friendly fiber market through this collaboration. Kim Chi-hyung, CEO of Hyosung TNC, said, "The circular economy is a field that Hyosung TNC is leading," adding, "Through this collaboration, we plan to support customers in achieving their sustainability goals and further expand next-generation eco-friendly solutions."
