High-Quality Nutritional Design at Reasonable Prices
Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced on the 24th that it will officially sell 26 types of supplements released under the high-quality health functional food brand 'Doctor Bear' at 200 Daiso stores nationwide.
The products launched include ▲multivitamins and minerals, vitamin B for overall health ▲milk thistle for liver health ▲lutein for eye health ▲calcium, calcium-magnesium-vitamin D, MSM for bone and joint health ▲coenzyme Q10 for blood pressure management ▲banaba leaf extract for blood sugar management ▲rTG omega-3 for blood circulation management ▲vitamin C for antioxidant support ▲green tea catechins and garcinia for body fat management ▲children’s multivitamins and calcium vitamins, among others.
Daewoong Pharmaceutical collaborates with Daiso through the 'National Health Project: Everyone Has the Right to Be Healthy' to provide high-quality products so that verified health functional foods can be easily accessed by anyone at reasonable prices. Additionally, to help consumers easily choose, suggestion phrases related to specific health concerns are inserted on the packaging. For example, phrases like "Worried about high blood pressure? Coenzyme Q10" help consumers intuitively select the products they need.
Furthermore, all Doctor Bear health functional foods are designed to meet 100% or more of the Korean Nutrient Intake Standards. Each product considers functionality with an optimal blend of ingredients. For example, the children's 'Doctor Bear Multivitamin Mineral Chewable' contains a balanced mix of 17 ingredients tailored to the daily recommended intake for ages 3 to 5. It also includes all eight essential B vitamins necessary for energy metabolism and adds vitamin A, which supports eye health, to lutein. Milk thistle contains B vitamins to support liver health and energy production.
Doctor Bear underwent strict quality control from raw material selection to manufacturing processes. Vitamin C is sourced from the UK, rTG omega-3 from Norway, and black maca from Peru, among other carefully selected raw materials. Health functional foods are produced in facilities certified with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), and foods are produced in facilities certified with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), all approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
Above all, the brand emphasizes reasonable pricing. While existing health functional foods typically cost between 20,000 to 30,000 KRW per month, Doctor Bear offers a monthly supply at 3,000 to 5,000 KRW, allowing more consumers to choose high-quality health functional foods without financial burden. This is thanks to Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s thorough preparation over the past year, minimizing costs through mass production from raw material sourcing to manufacturing, and boldly reducing ingredients that do not affect packaging or functionality to focus on the product’s core functionality and quality.
Purchase accessibility is also enhanced. Through Daiso’s nationwide distribution network, consumers can conveniently purchase the products at nearby stores. Starting with 200 Daiso stores nationwide, the company plans to gradually expand availability through Daiso’s online mall and additional stores to further improve purchase accessibility.
Go Seong-jae, team leader of Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s Health Functional Food Business Division, said, "In the era of self-medication, we planned this project with Daiso to improve accessibility so that consumers can more easily select products that match their health concerns and contribute to the promotion of national health." He added, "We plan to raise brand awareness of Doctor Bear among diverse consumer groups and provide high-quality products containing Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s nutritional design expertise at reasonable prices, setting a new standard for health management."
