Jeollanam-do is launching a new call for applications for ‘Jeonnam Unique Venues’ to promote the province’s appeal as a MICE event destination and to strengthen the competitiveness of the local MICE industry.
A Unique Venue refers to a location with distinctive charm that can only be enjoyed in a particular region, aside from general MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) venues such as hotels and convention centers.
Jeollanam-do has already designated 20 venues, including Mokpo Gourmet Culture Gallery Haegwan1897, Yeosu Yeulmaru, Naju 3917Majung, and Gurye Ssangsanjae.
This call for applications is being held for the first time in two years since 2023.
Applications will be accepted until the 28th.
Eligible venues are those that can host MICE events and meet the definition of a Jeonnam Unique Venue.
Facilities wishing to participate should submit their applications with a recommendation from their respective city or county.
Jeollanam-do will select approximately 22 venues through expert reviews, including document and on-site evaluations.
Venues finally selected as Jeonnam Unique Venues will be granted the title for two years and will receive various benefits, such as the awarding of a certification plaque, support for promotional marketing, additional MICE incentive support, capacity building for stakeholders, and expert consulting.
For inquiries regarding the application process, please contact the Jeollanam-do Tourism Development Division.
Lee Seokho, Director of the Jeollanam-do Tourism Development Division, said, “Through Jeonnam Unique Venues, we will offer differentiated appeal and further enhance Jeonnam’s competitiveness in attracting MICE events.”
