Namyangju Citizens Football Club (hereinafter Namyangju FC) secured their first win of the season by defeating Sejong SA Football Club 2-1 in the 2025 K4 League home opener held at Namyangju Sports Complex on the 22nd.

Attending the opening match were Namyangju FC club owner and Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok, Namyangju City Council Chairman Jo Seong-dae, and Namyangju FC CEO Moon Han-kyung.
Despite the chilly weather with a perceived temperature of 0 degrees Celsius, about 1,000 citizens filled the stands.
Before kickoff, Mayor Joo Gwang-deok, Chairman Jo Seong-dae, and honorary one-day mayor student Im Dong-woo performed the ceremonial kickoff, signaling a strong start to the new season.
The first goal scorer was Han Jeong-woo.
Han Jeong-woo, who played vigorously as a right-side attacker, converted an assist from Lee Jong-ryeol into a goal in the 35th minute of the first half.
Namyangju FC pressed Sejong SA strongly, and two minutes later, Lee Jong-ryeol scored an additional goal, sealing the match.

In the early second half, Namyangju FC briefly faltered after conceding a goal to the opponent’s fierce attack but maintained focus until the end to finish the game 2-1.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok said, “Thanks to many people coming to the stadium despite the cold weather, the team was able to achieve a good result,” and added, “I hope all citizen club owners will continue to support our Namyangju FC with one heart and one mind this season as well.”
Namyangju FC is recruiting citizen club owners to strengthen the club’s self-sustainability and establish sound finances, conducting the ‘Manman-eok’ (10,000 won, 10,000 people gather to make 100 million won) campaign.
Meanwhile, having won the opener, Namyangju FC is scheduled to play the K4 League 2nd round away game against Seoul Jungnang Football Club at Jungnang District Sports Complex on the 2nd of next month.
