Providing a Variety of Hands-on Learning Experiences Tailored to Children's Level

Gokseong-gun Public Health Medical Center in Jeollanam-do (Director: Kim Hyeongjin) announced on the 21st that on the 19th, about 30 teachers and children from Yesan Daycare Center in Gokseong-eup visited the medical center, toured the facilities, and participated in various hands-on experiences tailored to the children's level.

The medical center introduced the main facilities, including the internal medicine, ophthalmology, pediatrics, Korean medicine, vaccination room, oral health room, and the children's meal management support center to the visiting teachers and children, explaining the roles of each facility and providing health education programs appropriate for the children's age group.

The children experienced listening to their friends' stomach and heart sounds with a stethoscope, and learned the importance of proper handwashing by directly comparing the bacteria on their hands before and after washing. In the dental room, they lay on the dental chair and practiced brushing on a dental model, participating in various educational activities using materials suitable for their level.

A representative from the medical center said, "As we have entered a super-aged society, children's laughter has become rare, but during the tour, the center was filled with their voices, which made the staff happy as well," adding, "We will continue to do our best to promote residents' health by providing various visit tours and experiential education programs to help local children develop healthy lifestyle habits."
