Haenam County, Jeonnam Province (Governor Myung Hyun-gwan) announced on the 21st that it held the 1st Policy Brain Training Program for 28 county officials from the 18th to the 20th.

The training began with learning how to use ChatGPT, followed by a step-by-step process over three days that included identifying tasks suitable for Haenam, drafting persuasive proposals, and delivering presentations.

In particular, participants formed teams with experts in advertising planning, ESG and cultural convergence, service design, and AI, and, under the detailed guidance of a lead professor, worked to identify and plan policy tasks in each field.

During the training, numerous creative and witty ideas were presented, such as a smart agriculture joint management system, personalized D.I.Y Kimchi making, building an agricultural climate data platform, establishing a standard center for agricultural product export strategies, open recruitment for young village leaders, working holidays in Haenam, and creating stay-type travel spaces utilizing vacant houses.

A county official stated, "This was not a formal policy workshop, but a new type of training where participants could freely discuss their ideas and connect their creativity to county policies. Going forward, we will continue to discover policy tasks for Haenam through practical policy development workshops where team members brainstorm and share their ideas together."

Haenam County plans to continue strengthening staff capabilities and discovering policies to realize the vision of Haenam as the rural capital, while pursuing a variety of innovative policies to lead Haenam's future development.
