Expanding the Global Network in Regions Popular for the Korean Wave
National Pukyong University (President Bae Sang-hoon) has expanded its global network by consecutively signing international academic exchange agreements with five universities in Mexico.
President Bae Sang-hoon of National Pukyong University signed academic exchange agreements starting with Universidad Aut?noma de Yucat?n on the 13th, followed by Universidad An?huac Mayab and Universidad Rodr?guez Tamayo on the 14th, and then Universidad de Campeche and Universidad Aut?noma del Carmen on the 17th.
This international academic exchange agreement is part of National Pukyong University's internationalization strategy to expand the attraction of foreign students in connection with Busan, which aims to become a global hub city.
Amid growing demand for studying in Korea from Mexico and the Latin America region due to the influence of the Korean Wave, efforts have been made to actively promote the Busan area, which offers an excellent study environment, and National Pukyong University.
To this end, National Pukyong University not only signed academic exchange agreements with each university for educational cooperation and personnel exchange but also held special lectures promoting the status and strengths of Busan and National Pukyong University to Mexican university students, receiving positive responses locally.
Following this agreement, National Pukyong University plans to intensify discussions with each university on related matters such as attracting international students, dual degrees, and exchange student programs.
As of October last year, National Pukyong University has 1,752 international students from 68 countries enrolled in undergraduate, master's, doctoral, integrated master's and doctoral programs, exchange programs, training courses, and dual degree programs, among whom three are Mexican students.
