Husband Arrested for Killing Wife Who Demanded Divorce... Body Hidden in Trunk (Comprehensive)

"Unable to Contact" Investigation Launched After Friend's Report
Killed During Argument... Body Hidden

A man in his 40s who killed his wife in a fit of rage after she demanded a divorce and hid her body in a vehicle was arrested by the police.

On the 20th, the Suwon Jungbu Police Station in Gyeonggi announced that they plan to request an arrest warrant for Mr. A (47) on charges of murder and concealment of a corpse. Mr. A is accused of fatally assaulting his wife, Ms. B, in her 40s, multiple times on the head with his fists during an argument at their home in Suwon City on the morning of November 26 last year. He is also charged with wrapping Ms. B’s body in a blanket, placing it in the trunk of a vehicle, and hiding it in a nearby public parking lot on the same day.

The case came to light when a friend of Ms. B reported her missing on the 3rd after failing to contact her. Based on the fact that there was no 'sign of life' such as use of credit cards or mobile phones since late November last year, the police judged it to be a serious case and formed a dedicated team to conduct inquiries and witness interviews. During the investigation, statements were obtained indicating that Ms. B frequently argued with Mr. A, leading the police to consider Mr. A a prime suspect. They obtained an arrest warrant and apprehended him on the 19th.

Subsequently, Ms. B’s body was found hidden in the trunk of Mr. A’s vehicle. Due to the cold weather, the body was reported to be not severely decomposed. It was confirmed that Mr. A worked as a day laborer and often quarreled with Ms. B over financial issues. During police questioning, Mr. A stated, "I committed the crime because I was angry that my wife wanted a divorce."

The National Forensic Service conveyed a verbal opinion to the police through an autopsy, stating that "Ms. B is presumed to have died from head injuries and strangulation," and the exact cause of death will be determined through a detailed autopsy. The police plan to further investigate specific circumstances of the case, including whether Mr. A attempted to dispose of the body hidden in the trunk elsewhere.
